Salema is a beautiful small town, once a traditional fishermen village. Located on the western side of Algarve, it is about 80 minutes from Faro airport. Salema is renowned for its turquoise and quiet waters, and its half-mile long golden sand beach. The blue-flag beach is ideal for swimming and windsurfing. Families with children will love one of the amazing activities to do during their short breaks to Salema : take a stroll on the yellow limestone rocks located at either end of the beach and try to find fossils and dinosaur footprints !
Golf enthusiasts will enjoy visiting the Parque da Floresta during their Salema weekend breaks, an 18-hole golf course just outside of the town. If you want to taste the traditional Portuguese fresh seafood, there are many restaurants in Salema, including some right on the beach front.
