A very small, basic room but if that’s all you want then this is a great option - the location is brilliant and the Mountain view superb.

I am not a review writer by any stretch but..... credit where credit is due!

LOCATION: this block in Avoriaz is brilliantly located on the upper portion cliff side of the village on the cliff edge. ...A Sherpa shop (which is well stocked) is 25 seconds walk from the front doors, Skiset equipment hire 15 seconds walk from the front doors, a selection of restaurants 35 seconds from front doors. Snow permitting, ski straight from boot room to lifts at the bottom of the town (we skied first week of April 2025). It really does not get easier than this when it comes to skiing!! If you are new to skiing or have small children there is a small drag lift next to the bloc which makes an amazing practice slope (snow permitting).
STAFF: Lovely staff who speak fabulous English. Could not have been more helpful, obliging or accommodating. If they can help, they will help.
APPARTEMENTS: Yep they are compact but perfectly formed. If you are organised and orderly you will not have a problem staying here. A place for everything and everything in its place. Pack light, think 'capsular style wardrobe' and you will be well away. There is everything you need in the 'kitchen' (other than an oven obviously .... which is pretty standard in these types of apartment). There is a 4 ring hob and a selection of pans to make pasta and sauce or the like and pans for frying bacon and eggs for breakfast buns/bagguette. Nespresso coffee machine made life simple too. The mattresses are 'alright' but then I have stayed in places with far worse that charge far more! Realistically, these apartments are all about being out on the mountain (whatever time of year), not luxury 5* accommodation. They are what they are, and our family was pleasantly surprised. Just prime yourself for compact orderly living and team work.
VIEW: If you are lucky enough to get an apartment cliff side you will have one of the best views in Avoriaz hands down. Try and book an apartment with a balcony (most have them) as this gives you a little extra space as well as a space to enjoy the mountain view and sunshine from. You can keep drinks cool out there in winter or hang things out to air or dry in the sunshine. Cliff side gets the sun. Street side is north facing.
AVORIAZ: We booked last min spring skiing. We have visited the Portes Du Soleil twice before (Morzine and Chatel) but this was the first time we have stayed in Avoriaz which had never appealed. However the price was right so we booked it. We were booked on a pretty quiet week which made for a good holiday. I am not sure I would want to be there during a very busy period, but that is more because our family is used to rural quiet locations. However, as purpose built resorts go, it is well thought out and has everything you need for skiing. It sits in the heart of the Portes Du Soleil and so is great for exploring different areas. It has something for everyone. Plenty of restaurants, bars, shops, equipment hire and leisure centre.
