For all keen skiers! On 20 January the Prime Minister of France took a decision not to open ski lifts and public facilities until further notice in French ski mountain resorts. Due to the closure of the ski lift, our residences Pierre & Vacances located in the Alpes are closed until February 12th.
Currently we are in discussions with our ski resort partners to assess what kind of experience we can bring you, and how enjoyable it can be, in the mountains, for holifays from February 13th.
We’ll be updating this site every day with the latest information. But, if you prefer not to wait, why not consider relocating your end of year celebrations by heading to the coast instead? Enjoy the bracing sea air where we have a number of residences open and ready to welcome you. In these unusual times try something different. A raclette while wearing your flip flops could be the new way to celebrate? See you very (very) soon!
Skiing in the Alps
It's no surprise that the French Alps are the most popular destination for late ski deals in France. The region provides a wonderful selection
of ski resorts, with large, beautiful slopes for all abilities - the perfect choice for last minute ski holidays. Pierre et Vacances offers housing
for all budgets, including luxury ski accommodations. France is also the most accessible ski area from the UK, with most ski resorts less than 2 hours away from an international airport or reachable in only 10 hours by car (only 7 hours for the closest ones).
Why choose the French Alps for your 2019 ski holidays?
Unlike Austria or Switzerland, French ski resorts were built very recently. They are as close as possible to the slopes and therefore ideal for holiday makers who do not want to spend vacation time using public transportation or their cars in the snow. You just have to go outside, put on your skis, and that’s it! Our residences Les Terrasses d’Helios, L’Amara in Avoriaz and Arc 1950 Le Village are a few examples of ski-in ski-out facilities.
Enjoy an authentic atmosphere
In spite of being quite recent, French resorts are very pleasant for enjoying life in the mountains. Most of them are car-free, and offer an amazing view of the mountains and valleys. You'll also discover traditional French mountain dishes, like raclette and cheese fondue.
