The French Alps offer many skiing possibilities for ski weekends, in some of the most renowned ski resorts and some of the world’s largest ski areas. The Portes du Soleil ski area is one of them. With a stunning view of the Dents du Midi, the ski area offers sun during the whole season as well as an average of 8 metres of snow. Comprising 12 ski resorts both in France and Switzerland, the ski area is one of the largest in the world with over 650 km of slopes.
Voted Best Family Resort in 2013, Avoriaz is a 100% ski-in ski-out resort. It is also entirely car-free and therefore safe with children. The Annie Famose’s Village des Enfants is a unique ski school in France, teaching them the basic principles based on play and amusement, and each at their own pace. Moreover, ski passes are free for children under 5 and full prices apply up to the age of 16 (12 in most resorts). With 51 slopes, your short breaks to Avoriaz will be full of action ! There are 6 black, 14 red, 26 blue and 5 green slopes to enjoy.
