Very disappointing – ruined stay and no compensation

We stayed at a Pierre & Vacances residence near Porto-Vecchio and, unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing.

From the very first night, the air conditioning broke down: we were overrun by mosquitoes and spent a large part of the night swatting them away, until about 3 a.m. The next day, we also experienced two power outages during mealtimes.

But the most problematic issue was our refrigerator: all our food froze due to a technical problem with the fridge. When we reported it, the manager claimed that the door had been left open, thus doubting our word and making us feel like liars. There was no communication or compensation offered by her to address these numerous inconveniences.

The following day, I unfortunately fell ill. While we were still in the accommodation, a staff member from the residence came to ask us to leave. We explained that my condition could be related to the food that had been stored in the faulty refrigerator. Despite this, we then received a message from the manager criticizing us for delaying our departure and informing us that we could be charged €20 per hour.

We truly felt like we were being treated solely as customers to be paid for, with no attempt to listen, understand, or find a solution. It was a complete breakdown in communication and a thoroughly unprofessional attitude.

Yet we never asked for a refund or any kind of compensation: we simply expected understanding and a minimum of consideration given the accumulation of problems we encountered.

We are very disappointed with this experience. We will not be returning and we do not recommend this establishment.

Far from a five-star experience, we were asked to do the dishes and clean everything before our departure, which should have been done by the residence staff. Our sheets weren't changed even though we requested it after 10 days there.

The staff is pleasant and the location is great, but it's not worth a five-star rating or its price.

Beautiful residence with lovely, modern, and very well-equipped apartments. Pleasant views of the mountains and a glimpse of the sea in the distance. A car is necessary as it's quite isolated.

The house is spacious, with air-conditioned bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, which is a plus.

However, the proximity to the neighbors is quite noticeable, especially on the terrace.

It's also a shame there's no restaurant on-site to avoid having to eat in town... a real pity, as the restaurant is located there but, according to the reception staff, has never opened.
